The Metabolism Movement in architecture is an avant-garde design approach that emerged in the 1960s in post-war Japan, focusing on the integration of organic and biological principles into the architectural design as a response to the rapid urbanization and economic growth that the country was experiencing. The architectures as a result are dynamic and could potentially evolve and transform over time, reflecting the changing needs of society and its inhabitants. The Nakagin Capsule Tower designed by famed architect Kisho Kurokawa is one of the most iconic buildings that emerged from the movement.

Crafted from new materials from our other models, Architecture features an open-heart dial made from concrete, echoing the architectural inspiration behind it. The 41mm case is crafted from 316L stainless steel, a type of surgical-grade steel that is well-known for its robustness, wearability and durability. Architecture, much like its inspiration, is a timepiece that is built to last for years to come.
Open-heart with Clutch Wheel Exhibit
The open-heart details, reflecting the modular design of the Capsule Tower, are located between 6-7 o'clock and 3 o’clock on the dial, giving a glimpse of the intricate mechanism and clutch wheel at work while adjusting time with the 7mm push/pull crown. The transparent case back, made from K1 glass allows you to see through the watch’s inner workings without compromising its functionality. Staying true to our Japanese roots, Architecture is powered by a Miyota movement and crafted entirely in Japan.
